A mood board maker with no item limit
A mood board is the one document that is never finished. You add to it for weeks, most of what goes on it gets thrown away, and the useful version is the one where forty rejected images are still sitting off to the side for comparison. Anything that counts your items is fighting that.
Collect first, arrange later
Paste an image URL and the image appears on the board — no upload step, no file dialogue, and no cost to us, which is why it is free and uncapped rather than metered. Drop a colour swatch next to it and the palette builds itself as you go.
The canvas has no edge, so the sorting move is spatial rather than destructive: drag the maybes into a loose pile on the right instead of deleting them. When the direction settles, the pile is the evidence for why.
The cards this uses
Images and links for the references. Colour swatches for the palette. Comment zones to group a direction and carry its contents with it when you move the whole thing. Notes for the reasoning, which is the part everyone skips and then cannot reconstruct in the review.
Quote cards are worth knowing about here. A pull quote from the brief, placed on the board next to the work, settles more arguments than a link to the brief ever does.
Handing it over
Share the board with a viewer link and the recipient gets a clean read-only canvas they can pan and zoom, with no account and no sign-up wall. Set them to commenter instead and they can leave comment cards directly on the thing they are commenting on, which beats a numbered list referring to images by filename.
Present mode steps through the board full-screen when you need to walk someone through it live. Export to PNG or SVG when you need it flat.
What this is not good at
Free accounts reference images by URL rather than hosting them, which means an image is only on your board for as long as it stays at that address. If you are working from files on your own machine, or from sources that go dead, that is the reason to be on Pro — uploads are the one thing the free plan does not include.

- As many as you want. There is no cap on cards, boards or images on any plan. The free plan shows images by link rather than hosting uploaded files, but the number of them is not limited.
- Can I use my own images rather than links?
- Yes, on Pro, which hosts uploads for images, PDFs, audio and files. On the free plan you paste a URL and the image renders on the canvas.
- Can I share a mood board with a client who has no account?
- Yes. A share link carries a role, and a viewer link opens a read-only board for anyone who has it, with no sign-up.
