Terms of Service

Last updated 28 July 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Northem for the use of Cinderra. Using the service means you accept them. They are deliberately short, because a contract nobody finishes reading protects nobody.

01Who this is with

Cinderra is operated by Northem, established in Norway. Where these terms say “we” or “us”, that is who they mean. “You” is whoever holds the account — a person, or the organisation whose employee opened it.

Contact: admin@northem.no.

02Your account

You need an account to use the service, and you must be at least 16 years old.

Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself. Everything done through your account is treated as done by you, so tell us at admin@northem.no the moment you think someone else has access.

One account is one identity. You may not share a single account between several people to avoid paying for seats; the paid plans exist precisely so you do not have to.

The information you give us at sign-up has to be accurate. Signing up as someone you are not is grounds for us closing the account.

03Your content stays yours

You own everything you put on a board. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of it to us, and we claim no rights in it beyond the narrow, practical licence in the next paragraph.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit and display your content, strictly for the purpose of operating the service for you — putting a card on a screen means copying it, and a lawyer would like that spelled out. The licence ends when you delete the content, subject only to backups rolling over within 30 days.

We do not use your content to train machine learning models. We do not license it to anyone. We do not read it, except when you ask us to help with something specific, or where the law requires it.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. If you clip an image from a website, whether you may keep it is between you and whoever owns it.

04How you may use it

The Acceptable Use Policy is part of these terms and sets out what you may not do. In summary: nothing illegal, nothing that harms other people, and nothing that attacks the service itself.

You may not resell the service, reverse engineer it except where the law says you may, use it to build a competing product, or circumvent the limits on your plan.

Automated access is fine within reason. Hammering the API hard enough to degrade the service for others is not, and we may rate-limit or suspend accounts that do.

05Plans and payment

The free plan is free and comes with storage and feature limits, which are described on the pricing page and may change with notice.

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through PayPal on a recurring cycle until cancelled. Prices are shown before you subscribe and exclude any tax that applies where you are; if VAT is due it is added at checkout.

You can cancel at any time from Settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal — it does not refund the current period, and you keep the paid features until that period ends.

If you are a consumer in the EEA you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. Because the service starts immediately, you are asked to agree that performance begins at once; you may still withdraw within 14 days and we will refund proportionally for the part not used. Write to admin@northem.no.

We may change prices. Existing subscribers get at least 30 days’ notice by email before a change affects them, and may cancel instead.

If a payment fails we will retry, and if it keeps failing the account drops to the free plan. Your content is not deleted for non-payment — it becomes read-only if it exceeds the free limits, and stays that way until you either upgrade again or remove enough to fit.

06Availability

We work to keep the service up and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can, but we do not offer an uptime guarantee on any plan. This is a small operation and promising four nines would be a lie.

We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, you get at least 90 days’ notice and the export tool keeps working throughout, so you leave with everything.

07Suspension and termination

You may stop at any time. Deleting your account from Settings removes your content within 30 days, backups included.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, that exposes us or other users to legal risk, or that we are legally required to act against. Except where the breach is severe or continuing, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it first.

If we close your account for a reason other than a breach, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.

08Warranties and liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Consumer rights under Norwegian and EEA law are unaffected by anything written here.

Subject to that, our total liability arising out of the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period, or 100 EUR. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data where you had the means to export it.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. The export tool exists for this reason and takes one click.

09Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept them. If you do not, cancel — and if you were on a paid plan, we will refund the unused part.

10Governing law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes go to the Norwegian courts, with Oslo District Court as the agreed venue.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts. Consumers in Norway may also take a complaint to Forbrukertilsynet, and consumers in the EU may use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.

If a provision of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stands.

TL;DR

In short

You own your content, we host it, either of us can walk away. The rest is the detail a lawyer needs spelled out.

  • Your contentStays yours. We get only the licence needed to show it to you, it ends when you delete it, and it is never used to train models or sold to anyone.
  • Your accountOne account, one person, minimum age 16. Keep the credentials to yourself — anything done through your account counts as done by you.
  • PayingFree plan is genuinely free. Paid plans bill in advance through PayPal, cancel any time from Settings, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than refunding this one.
  • Changing our mindPrices change with 30 days’ notice. Terms change with 30 days’ notice. If we shut the service down you get 90 days and a working export the whole time.
  • If it breaksNo uptime guarantee — we are small and would be lying. Our liability is capped at what you paid us in 12 months or 100 EUR, whichever is more. Keep your own backups.
  • If it goes wrongNorwegian law, Oslo courts. As a consumer you keep your home country’s protections and can sue where you live — nothing here takes that away.

This summary is here to be read, not relied on. It is not part of the Terms of Service and it does not change a word of what is above it — where the two disagree, the document wins.
